and find that shirt that you haven't worn since arriving here
3 months passed before you pull it on
and it smells like the last place
like a different you
like someone else was just wearing it
donate your stale clothes to a thrift store a few hours away from you
get new clothes from thrift stores a few hours away from you
there is something magical and refreshing about clothes from somewhere else
BUT you have to donate too, and you have to put anything that fell on the ground back on a hanger
I don’t know how to explain this well… I don’t mean buy a second version of a shirt you already have, I mean when you try something on and it feels like you owning it is already a true fact of the world even though you don’t own anything like it… fulfilling clothing prophesy perhaps
I love being an outfit repeater. I love when my clothes start to feel roomy & slouchy. I love when I notice the fabric color fading. I love when my jeans fray & the denim starts to break open on the knees. I love it when my clothes show that i’ve lived.
in my opinion a strong contender for the most beautiful place in the usa. it feels like home to me and i cannot wait to be there again. hope you can make it there someday :)
