Symphony No. 5: Gustav mahler

I am lucky enough to live in a city with a phenomenal symphony that does student discounts. The Romantic era of classical is my favorite and Mahler never disappoints. Hearing this live healed me. Check out the adagietto movement if you can’t sit through the whole thing.

hii!⭐️ these are the books i'm currently reading: - crime and punishment (fyodor dostoevsky) - less is more: how degrowth will save the world (jason hickel) - history (elsa morante) - the copenhagen trilogy: childhood, youth, dependency (tove ditlevsen) - beloved (toni morrison) - pedagogy of the oppressed (paulo freire) i like reading multiple books at a time depending on how i feel, but when i'm about to finish one i usually focus on it until the end. up next: - intermezzo (sally rooney) - the seven moons of maali almeida (shehan karunatilaka) - an autobiography (angela y. davis) - the light years (elizabeth jane howard) - the forbidden notebook (alba de céspedes)

I WATCHED SINNERS THREE DAYS IN A ROW

i'm glad i chose history of african american music as one of my courses, it would've been quite hard for me to really understand the film otherwise. still learned a lot from it though!

SO MANY THINGS!!

i have my mother's accent and so many of her mannerisms, while i like pasta cooked the same way my father does. my brother has influenced me a lot in so many ways, it's honestly hard to just pick one. my friends and i use each others' expressions all the time. every time i listen to kpop i think about my friend marta (she's the one who introduced me to the genre) and every time i listen to my chemical romance i think about my middle school friends. my idea of teaching is of course influenced by my violin teacher and when i put my violin away i cover it with my grandmother's silk scarf. i want to learn how to sew because of my other grandmother. from my grandfathers i got the love for watching documentaries and playing cards. these are just some examples that come to mind, but i love thinking about it :)
