Theres this artist called skaiwater, and yo i do not get it at all. I mean i love Jane remover and i feel like it’s the same vibe? I just can’t understand their music though. I mean it’s cool i respect what they’re doing. Truly interesting but I just do not get what it’s suppose to be doing. Maybe after a few listens. No hater shit. Just idk.
While I love lots of music and have created way too many playlists, I always get fixated on the same five songs during a period of time, before inevitably finding new ones to be attached to (and “retiring” the previous ones into the void of my Spotify liked list). I used to think it was a strange way to listen to music, especially since I can be so obsessed with a select # of songs and then just forget they exist, or only revisit years later. But when I do go back, or hear the songs play out in the wild, it’s so cathartic and bittersweet. I can remember the exact chapter of my life, how I was feeling at the time/what I was going through, and it reminds me how much time has passed and all the experiences I’ve had/the various people I’ve met (temporary or not). I can remember and feel the feelings, and then just allow it to fade back into the background. I doubt I’m the only one listening to music this way, but if that’s not you, it’s a sentimental outlook to lean into!
Listening to music again should be mandatory. None of this I don't have time shit or I just wanna watch tv. THE TLC UNIVERSE CAN WAIT. I have a beabadoobee and mitski album to get through.
Starting this week I'm dedicating a day to music. New albums, old ones, recommendations, and LIVE ALBUMS. That's right I'm getting to the AudioTree records everyone hates. NOT because Heart to Gold put one out, wishing it was a full album; but because my favorite recording of Pinegrove's No Drugs is the stupid Skylight Sessions version AND their Amperland, NY version of Amulets/Light On might be one of the best songs I've ever heard in my entire fucking life...
Anyway, tell me what you're listening to. Make it good.
Don’t be that person. Mf got a banana and a Celsius, something is going down and they need to make a quick exit. You got mad vegetables anyway, let the cashier breathe a little before they struggle to remember how to ring up them green onions you copping.
Nothing better than giving someone a little squeeze to show them you got them. It’s always great when someone can sense that you need it and add a little something to the hug. Don’t settle for a dap. Get in there.
I have no context at all but I love it. Feels like I’m missing out but that’s alright it’s just good to hear somebody having a big ol belly laugh and enjoying this shit while we’re breathing.
