I used to be a hater! I did't like the idea of turning my leisure time with friends part of a productive logic by adding it to a calendar. Let my have my fun time in peace. But after a few experiences of having it there, I've changed my ways. I like seeing the note and having someting to look foward, and feel a responsability to it, to not schedule work or study things over it.

I just started doing this with my friends and it is really nice to have something to look foward to. I feel like anything in writing is more intentional than just making a mental note of it

this sounds lame but hear me out. i was recently thinking about how ive been very stressed and when i am stressed i dont make time to do the things i like. like recently i haven’t been watching as many movies as i was in the summer. so i added a movie into my calendar for sunday. now i have almost guaranteed that i will watch a movie bc i love following my calendar. i was also worried that i would double book myself a lot this halloween so i was worried to say yes to things. but then i put all the parties in my calendar and now i can keep them straight in my head. i love productivity apps and organization and notion and lists.

I keep a Google Calendar. Yoga class on Saturday, the same yoga class I’ve been going to for 2 years? Yeah, it’s there. FaceTime with a friend? Yup. Last minute dinner with my cousin? I’m adding it to my calendar as I’m walking into the restaurant. I’ll go back and add an event or outing after the fact. I don’t care. I want to track my silly little wonderful life. Maybe I am this way because my mother still keeps a calendar filled with appointments and activities and schedules on the fridge.

Honestly saved me so many time and anxiety. Much like planner you check it often and make sure to add things that interests you or things with friends. Most important of all I learned to trust all the past version of me to the point where nothing on my calendar is bad. (You can also make note to add how important or skippable it is )

One of the things I like the most about Pi.fyi and the current scale of users is that it's still noticeable when a rec was inspired by another. Sometimes the rec directly mentions the other, but other times you can kinda assume that reading an especific thing here triggered a memory or an ideia. It's very cute and interesting to notice the small influences interacting with other humans online can have.
