The first music I really remember hearing and liking from when I was like 3-4. They included some of the following tracks:
Venus As A Boy — Björk
Never There — Cake
New Age Girl — Dead Eye Dick
Wild Horses — The Sundays
honorable mentions:
One Week — Bare Naked Ladies
Semi-charmed Life — Third Eye Blind
Not one I purchased, but the first CD I was given as a child. Used to listen to this in the car with my grandmother when she’d pick me up and drive me to ballet lessons. Very formative album for me since it’s this and the live version of landslide that were the first “real” music I can remember hearing. If it’s first music I personally purchased… a bunch of random cds from the used book store when I was in middle school. Don’t know what would be in that stack.
I’ve been getting super into The Bee Gees, Todd Rundgren, Marvin Gaye, etc the last few years. It’s really fun to play them for my mom and hear her talk about how she danced to Fanny (Be Tender With My Love) at her prom etc.
Oh, you wanted me to do this enormous task in an impossible amount of time? No u didn’t :) I’m actually not gonna do that, and good luck finding someone who will :-)
