Fell off a scooter and got 8 stitches. Small scar under my chin. Six months later I fell down the steps at the Bedford Ave L station and got another scar on top of the first one. Been accident free for two years now!

mom was using a machete to clear the tall weeds in our yard at our new house in Thailand. i walked up behind her to ask a question and got caught in her backswing. i clutched my elbow and saw a dark red streak go down my arm. it was so deep you could see ligaments and fat tissue. we had to drive 45 mins into town to get stitches and tetanus shot but at least i got out of yard work for the day. lucius is so jealous of this scar lmao i also have a scar on my leg from a lipoma (benign fat tumor) that needed removal in high school. and a huge scar from surgery to repair my broken collarbone from the seatbelt that saved me from dying in a horrible accident in college. i have metal plates and screws holding me together. and a few scars on my hands and wrists from the broken windshield glass.

here's the story , so basically i was learning to ride a scooter and after practicing in a big empty space, i thought yep i'm a pro now it's easy taffic? highways? it's nothing, BUT the god said nahhh girl you need more practice. long story short i had a small incident where i didn't just get a scratch on my elbow but also on my knee. The knee one healed, but the massive scatch on my elbow it left a huge very visible scar. so now I HAVE A PERMANENT REMINDER OF MY OVERCONFIDENCE.

1. My biggest is a scar from collar bone surgery after it broke into three pieces on a bike ride in the college. I still have the metal plate holding it together 2. Two on my achilles tendons because I walked on my toes for my entire childhood, so they needed to be surgically lengthened when I was nine. 3. Several on my face from when I was hit by a car while on a bike ride. 4. One on my outer wrist from riding too closely past a branch while on a 100 mile bike ride And I have several more from either crashing my bike or being clumsy. I don't do bike racing anymore lol.

I have the tiniest apartment in NYC and I love her. The kitchen is nothing more than the fridge sink oven and a small square of counter space but you know what we make it WORK. I never have all the necessary equipment to cook something but it forces me to get creative. I didn’t have a lid to my saucepan so guess what we threw a baking sheet on there and called it a day. All I really needed was something to keep the heat (mostly) in. Don’t have vinegar? Put in a lemon, that’s also an acid. Don’t have a trussing needle? We’re dousing a safety pin in alcohol and sewing that chicken UP. Restriction makes you think about why you’re doing something instead of going through the motions. Don‘t let your kitchen for ants hold you back!

1. No caffeine 24 hours before your flight 2. Invest in a very solid neck pillow 3. Bring a hoodie, an eye mask, a light layer and earplugs. 4. Sit in the window 5. Moisturize 6. Optional: red wine at the gate and a melatonin in your seat 7. Read until you can’t and you’ll be asleep by takeoff.
