Living in Seattle after New York was an incredible change in the speed of life, the slow-down and come-down that I desperately needed. Partly in thanks to some groooovy texans that wiggled their wavy lives into mine. Khruangbin was one of those bands they’d talk about as being a lifestyle and I thought it was funny cause I never befriended a “fish head.” Now, 5 years later I’m living in Stockholm and those groovy waves still fill my vibey lifestyle and I’m happy to see Khruangbin around more and more to remember me of the killer times we got to share. Looking forward to more of this as the warmer months come through.

It was a big risk, but I was just laid off from a job I hated and had a fresh breakup on top of that. I had decent prospects as far as potential jobs go, but I wanted to stay in “the city” and I felt like I hit a ceiling in San Francisco. Plus, I’d lived there nearly my entire life. Thus, I had a suspicion that if I couldn’t be happy in New York City, then I wouldn't be happy anywhere. That was a little over six years ago now and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. A LOT has happened here, and I’ve dealt with a ton of grief, but man, I love it here. I have a great job, made some real friends and community, and am living outwardly as my truest self. I’m sure I could’ve had this in SF if I tried, and I know that this lifestyle will change inevitably, but I love living in a place with an energy that emanates throughout the city.

I have a love/hate relationship with this state. This thought came up after I noticed how many people on here are from NYC. Not a dig at NYC, it’s cool but I love TX. I’ve lived here for about 15 years. I came into my own here. I’ve been to every corner of the state but haven’t been to every city. I like north texas the most but central will always be home. People here are friendlier than you’d expect. anytime I read an article about Texas I always assume this person has never stepped foot in the state. the preconceptions people may have about this state and its people are usually wrong. I could write more, and I probably will at some point. The thought of leaving it all behind breaks my heart. the song/band reminds me of home. super bummed they decided to skip us on their tour.

always kind of viewed nyc as a second home away from toronto. only lived there for a few months but that's plenty of time for all kinds of impressions to be left. back in the city for a cheeky 2 day solo retreat and genuinely could not be happier

Never have I ever had as much as a religious movement than when I’ve eaten out of this world focaccia. Oily, salty and crunch. Whoever has recipes, I want them!

well I carried through on learning how to make a focaccia. Actually really damn easy. It came out really thick and buoyant so want to try some other recipes to get the oily crispyness down.

Honestly it’s a summary of the last few times I’ve used it, not very inspirational though. I’d think they have a better understanding of me by now, and I don’t like the two columns. I need more vis in the first moment :)
