i’m currently reading one million books: the only child by andrew pyper (spooky crime?) weaveworld by clive barker (fantasy/horror adventure) the idiot by fyodor dostoevsky (classic russian lit, sort of comedy?) and i have just finished a few as well: where the crawdads sing by delia owens (romantic crime fiction?? slice of life?) the bone mother by david demchuk (short slavic folktales) year of wonders by geraldine brooks (medieval slice of life)

paperpendragon ok so basically some of the details oddly matched the authors own experience and her and her husband ended up becoming a person of interest in the murder of a poacher - link here, idk what happened after but i think the son was believed to be guilty? i’m not into true crime but i am a bookworm so i just remember this story being huge back in 2022
