Anytime anything small makes me happy, or brings me joy, I say to myself "today is gonna be a good day". It helps me start off my day on a positive note, and establishes the practice of hope as a daily discipline lol for example: - *leaf gets stuck on the window of our 5 story walk up* today's gonna be a good day - *sees a ladybug on the windowsill* today's gonna be a good day - *hears a fun song on the street while on a commute* today's gonna be a good day - *drinks a glass of water and it tastes good* today's gonna be a good day In my experience, it's positioned my frame of thought as "hey lets look for all the good in our day today" rather than "let me wait for something good to happen"; and that has made a world of difference when it comes to tackling some of the harder obstacles. So yea idk, give it a try and lmk how it goes <3

It's easy for me to dwell on the negative and spiral into depression, so I have to actively focus on the good/positive things I experience to rewire my brain. Whenever something nice is happening (it can be as simple as liking the homemade matcha I made), I note it in my mind (something like "this is a good thing happening to me") to remind myself in the present that good things happen to me. And with that same example, I can add on the bonus thought that I made that good thing happen.

Sometimes (f.e. Before i go to sleep) I’ll just give myself a lil ted talk about how good/positive things are/can be and stuff I like about me or my life or whatever. It feels weird in the beginning but it feels great 🪂

i've been doing little things to make my life a little easier, like leaving a bottle of water, iron supplements and some belvita soft bakes right by my bed so i always have breakfast, water and iron in the morning, and keeping a very condensed set of skincare stuff right by my toothbrush - it might not be as effective as having more but getting myself to use a cleanser, moisturising sunscreen and vaseline every day has already made my skin feel so much better which has just gotten me more excited to do my routine every day. plus, getting body sprays and haircare stuff and just products in general that you really like the smell of is a game changer because now i get to smell like pineapples and caramel every day! it's such little things but it makes me happy and keeps me doing a routine of things that are good for me :))

My steps: 1. Shut my phone down, hide it in my room, and lock the door so it's a pain in the ass to get to. 2. Be bored, and sit in the boredom for like 7-10 minutes (MINIMUM)-- once you're bored see what your brain gravitates to beyond The Screen (is it doodling? is it playing guitar? is it writing?) 3. Find the little thing your brain latches on to, and start doing it! Even if it's something goofy like "Just Dance youtube videos" to dance to LOL this is you, deliberately following your brain's natural curiosity & interest And then rinse and repeat however you like <3 Once you get accustomed to the smaller, more gratifying feel good activities, social media starts to feel too overwhelming to even pick back up again-- you'll be reaching for it less and less (a final aside: I am of the major belief that creativity & imagination is critical to creating a better reality to live in, because it shows that you're capable of leaning into what "doesn't exist", and are courageous enough to imagine and build a reality that defies the status quo. but that's just me LOL)
