thinking critically about how we consume media + Learning from it

as someone who’s realized they are chronically online (i hate it trust me), i’ve realized that all the media consumption really has caused me brain rot lol. with that being said, i’ve been trying to watch documentaries and movies that are normally out of my comfort zone to not only learn new things but also to help me with forming thoughts about *said* things because…sometimes i go with what people are saying online because a bunch of people are saying it (once again i hate it too trust me) all this to say, dont knock something till you try it - it’s good for your brain and your soul to develop opinions

On the one hand

I don’t think it’s good to view yourself as superior to others for your taste in things because we all have our own gifts. on the other hand I don’t think it’s productive to attempt to view everything through a myopic moralistic lens, morality can in fact be subjective, there’s nothing wrong with liking what you like, and pretension is often in the eyes of the beholder

now obviously it’s not the best way to receive information or interact w a collection . but seeing the range of objects individually itemised allows me to give them an equal amount of attention . usually im drawn by my own interests and prioritise these… i enjoy the experience of going one by one rather than dashing to what i already love .. opens up new worlds to me….

putting a lil cinnamon in ur coffee grounds

been hiding this a while as i dream of it being my trademark but a lil cinnamon straight into the bialetti with the grounds is so good . just a hint of whimsy in ur morning coffee . might fuck up the pot but honestly life is short and should be filled with fun beverages
