im trying to curb my takeout consumption (itās real bad) and my nutritionist recommended this service to me last session. i only had one meal but im happy to report its not like factor meals that are all mush š the portions are actually plentiful and the meal i had today was pretty good. im excited to see if this will help or if this is just another add on to my bad spending habits.
Online nutrition program thatās already changing my life and helping me identify the foods that trigger me (spoiler: many fruits and vegetables are tough on the digestion even if youāre āeating healthyā). I use the app to record my food and symptoms in tandem with weekly Zoom meetings with a dietician, although I believe that you can just use the app for free (incidentally, the sessions are fully covered through my insurance). I hate the idea of logging food, but itās been super easy and non-intrusive, plus thereās something about seeing things laid out in this format that makes it very easy to identify the problem, e.g. if I eat onions I wake up feeling bloated the next day.
iāve been very unhappy with my weight gain and lack of drive to lose it. i used to be in shape and an athlete and now i am exhausted walking up the steps. iāve been taking walks and have been more active but am now considering a form of safe fasting because my biggest issue has been food intake. i *love* to eat. trying to share in hopes of being held accountable (by myself by making it known). sigh.
As my cousin Ronnie would jokingly say at family reunions, Iām on the seafood dietāI see food, I eat it!! I have historically had a problem with overeating snacks and if I buy chips itās really easy for me to eat them all in one sitting. I embrace an ingredients household mindset and try to only buy whole foods based snacks like cheese, nuts, etc that are so boring and wholesome theyāre kind of hard to eat too much of them. Demonic food scientists and executives at corporate conglomerate food manufacturers, many of whom worked at cigarette companies in the past, have engineered hyper processed foods to be optimally addictive. I replace the chips I used to be addicted to with alternative snacks that use better ingredients and typically come in much smaller bagsāI have yet to find my methadone for my drug of choice, HOT CHEETOS because Iām OPPRESSED and the bougie snack industry evidently doesnāt care about MY NEEDSāand I portion them out into bowls when I eat them then put the bag away. If you have some kind of an Uber Eats/Doordash problem then delete those apps because itās too easy to just summon whatever you want whenever you want, on a whim. Make it so if you want to get food you have to go out and work for it. Add friction to counterbalance your impulsive nature! And when you eat, eat mindfully and slowly. Also if youāre regularly craving certain foods I hear that it can have something to do with nutritional imbalance so be mindful of thatā¦
idk how i came across this in my daily wikipedia surfs, but something about this painting just amuses me so much. my first impression was this looks fairly modern in a way, possibly because of the composition and how she made her features so light and bouncy. it oddly made me think of disney when i looked for longer. then i see it was made in 1909 š this painting can transcend times and i wouldnāt truly know when it was made unless i looked more closely at the objects around the subject. but even that can be a stretch as vintage items can be popular amongst anyone and they can just have their vanity setup look like this. i tried looking for photographs of her online but alas nothing came up with certainty.
i saw something on here a day ago about how fireflies are disappearing and lightly catastrophized the scenario. but then as i regulated myself i looked up an article lightly extinguishing my concerns. so as i look at the copious little flickers out my window, ill be glad to tell you that while firefly populations are decreasing, some firefly species are adapting to new environments trying to prosper and evolve. big causes for their decline are obvi climate change, urbanization, and light pollution. a simple way for you to not make things bad for the fireflies in your area is to not use pesticides on your lawns if you have them. they spend most of their lives in the ground so it starts at the soil. additionally, every article i see with the salacious title about ālast generation to see firefliesā seems to be blocking out a lot of things about current firefly populations. most of the fireflies on the IUCN red list they keep mentioning are marked vulnerable or least concern. so there is a possibility a species or more of fireflies may disappear, but all of them i donāt think so.
