But when you see a cool fun critter, take the extra minute to look at it, maybe get a photo of it, make your friends look at it if you're with them! The moon’s orbital plane is inclined relative to the earth’s by something like five degrees, so eclipses only happen when the moon’s orbit intersects the line where the two planes meet. Those points are called nodes I think
