Never have to worry about losing an earbud OR CHARGING THEM. I can never go back to bluetooth. Also the concept of bluetooth scares me idk how we did that as humans

Yea my biggest issue is charging them, I barely remember to charge my phone I'm definitely not going to remember to charge my headphones :'))

love but occasionally wired is not so great when you have multiple things going on however... Jacket, bags, so much to get tangled in. overstimulation central.

I love wired especially because they can be substantially cheaper and I dont have to ever worry about losing them or ppl stealing them because they are so cheap to replace. They are often louder too.

short wave radio waves is all on the electromagnetic spectrum of energy!!!!! energy *is* magic!!! yes it’s a simple explanation but that does not mean it is NOT magic. i will say — i require cordless headphones for the gym (self titled muscle mommy here lmfao) BUT cordless headphones fucking ruuuuuuule!!!!!

@PICKLEDLUYA Short-range Radiowaves 😭 But i guess it more magical and fun to perceive it as something inexplicable💸💸💸

@ORPHEUS it is magical. You're telling me short wave radio waves tell this little device to play the Beatles for you and a little John Lennon sings in your ear and it's not magic - I'm still unsure on how vinyl isn't magic

@PICKLEDLUYA the fact that we just figured out how to make two devices talk to each other really freaks me out!

@TALKINGHEADS honestly what's crazier is how the encoding of Bluetooth works. It doesn't just send the information over a single wavelength all the time (i.e. it's not like a local radio station tuned to a specific frequency). Instead, the transmitter changes frequency frequently along a set of pre-determined wavelengths. The receiver tunes itself to these wavelengths at the same time. Imagine if instead of watching a movie on one screen, instead you had 100 screens and had to look at a specific one every ten seconds. This is called Frequency Hopping and it's done to keep Bluetooth transmissions private, as well as prevent interference in crowded places (e.g. train stations).

I feel like I've moved the exact opposite way, LOL. I used to be ride-or-die for wired headphones, and then I got bluetooth ones. the lack of a wire is very convenient so that I can move about. I agree that having to keep track of charging and connecting them can be a pain in the ass, but I think I also have bias because I can't use earbuds. much harder to lose over-the-ear headphones

@JUKEBOXCAPM OHHH yes cover the ear headphones are totally different I understand!!! The freedom to move around with Bluetooth is so nice

I still use my wired earphones. Noise cancelling and Bluetooth headphones are great for a jam out and I own a pair but I hate charging things (or more so I forget), I’m lazy and I love my wired earphones. Love to hear ambient noises in the background sometimes especially on a walk alone. Also I’m a ceramicist and a painter, it’s just easier sometimes to be able to use my dirty hands to pull the wire and get them to pop out of my ears rather than having to clean gunk off my expensive Bluetooth headphones.
