My parents conceived me in a house with no cable only local channels, one of which had old Bollywood movies on it, or so the story goes they tell me. They really liked this movie and I remember around 5 years old I would watch it with them, but since it‘s R rated they would pause and skip over all the raunchy stuff. They even had the amazing soundtrack on CD that my mom would play when she took me and my younger brother to school. That CD is long gone, and the DVD I last had in my possession 2 years ago but have no clue where it is now. I didn‘t truly appreciate until I got much older. Easy recommend.
I never hear anyone talk about this one! I think my mom bought this from a $5 DVD bin but it just ended up in my house one day as a kid and it‘s my favorite rom com ever — ridiculous story but INSANELY good sound track that are still some of my favorite songs ever (e.g. Cigarettes & Coffee by Otis Redding but also Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots) and Isla Fisher being one of my favorite depictions of a manic pixie dream girl maybe ever. And sweet bb Abigail Breslin. Oh and Rachel Weisz.
Everything in your life does not have to be subscription based, and subscription does not equate a service being good. If I’m paying $24.99 a month to watch Netflix in 4K UHD, I should expect to see what I pay for, not subpar playback latency, low bitrate streams, many app crashes, and overall looking terrible on anything that isn’t a 4K display. Remember when you could buy things and own them, like, forever? There is a better world out there past Netflix, Hulu, Spotify and Amazon Prime.
