My roommate immediately starts by spreading cold butter on her toast. This does not work, it is grating to watch how it affects the structural integrity of the toast. Just put a blob of butter on your toast, wait, let it soften a bit, and then start spreading. This is the only way to butter your toast.
you don’t need to refrigerate that stuff and it’s way more pleasurable at room temp imo. butter spreads and melts v nicely when you don’t have to put it on piping hot toast first!
