Me as a French noir doll, courtesy of my fave artist Alexandra Yvette. Get your boo, your bestie, or your beloved a portrait — then watch “Breathless” and pretend you’re both sipping dirty martinis in her honor (her signature drink, of course).
Her work is otherworldly and glamorous and I’m constantly inspired by it. The fact that she, one of the most influential surrealists of the 20th century, is commonly remembered only as Picasso’s mistress and the subject of the weeping woman haunts me
I’m a regular at this horror-themed coffeehouse in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood. It’s such a gem that body-horror maestro David Cronenberg gave it a thumbs up. Another unusual fact is that Avondale is known as Chicago’s horror neighborhood. The cafes, shops, restaurants, and bookstores all lean into the spooky. Also, I met Suspira’s Barbara Magnolfi here at a meet and greet event!🩸❤️
It’s almost criminal that I’m just now watching this show, considering how much I love anime thrillers! I’m on layer: 08 (episode 8) — don’t tell me what happens next!😭🛜💞
I’ve loved thrifting and vintage since I was young, and while I’m not a perfect sustainable fashionista, I try! I also really enjoy the cultural commentary and policy coverage — they’re so helpful for a girl with an environmental reporter beat and a passion for eco-fashion.
