I never see anyone talking about my king Jim Croce iāve loved him ever since i waslittle and heās still prob my favortie artist of all time. Super cool folk dude from the 60s he passed away in a plane crash which pushed him into the mainstream but i never met someone my age who likes him like i do. My favorite song is speedball tucker but i recommend listening to āyou donāt mess around with Jimā or ātime in a bottleā or āhard times be overā (which is a fire song by him and his wife Ingrid Croce)
Maury was Jim Croceās writing partner and playing companion up and until 1973 when both Jim and Maury would sadly pass in plane crash departing one of their last stops on a run of tour dates. Maury was 24 years old at the time of the crash, him and Jim had written records together in the past yea, prior to teaming up with Jim, He had released the Gingerbreadd Album at age 21 and itās insane. My Favorite Tracks are āOne Last Chanceā & āRocky Mountainsā but tbh theyāre all sick there is even a track titled Mister Bainbridge. I was fortunate enough to get myself a vinyl copy of the original capital release a few months back and cherish it. Additionally Maury wrote on Fever Dream by Loggins & Messina.. Mauryās older sister Mary runs a memorial/fan page on Facebook in honor of her brother detailing old stories and quiddities of his life that often bring and to tears and displays the tireless devotion sheās committed to preserving the memory of Maury and his Music.
IDK how I just noticed this but
Jim Croce's "I Got a Name" and
Gordon Lightfoot's "Carefree Highway"
(classic acoustica moments from the '70s that have been used in films, ads, etc.)
Are both in the key of E major
both sung by guys with baritone voices
and involve lyrics about either literally or metaphorically going down a "highway" to discover and experience life.
Just sayin'.
I'm sure it wouldn't take much to find a James Taylor/Tim Buckley venn diagram either.
Anything by Camus is a banger but the stranger was the first book I read by him. Def recommend as it gives a good look into absurdism and the social contracts we play into.
If Iād recommend any book to someone it will always be this one. James Baldwin writing is so profound the emotional impact this book had me is so deep. Especially if you are a queer man the themes hit deep (although anybody could definitely relate in some way to it). Short read I definitely recommend everybody check it out
i think bugs are so cool especially under a magnifying glass or something. my favorite bug is a stink bug because i think they look silly and it makes me feel bad when they get stuck on their backs. i think praying mantisā are also super cool have you guys ever seen the little dance they do for defense??? man i love bugs
