last thing i told my ex was that he didn’t need a girlfriend, he needed a therapist. i have since seen him with 4 different girls.

appreciating singe life
i’ve never been in a long term relationship or i was always looking for “one” and i think by doing that, i never really got to appreciate the meaning of single life. i don’t need someone to take me out, i can do that. movie dates, coffee dates, spontaneous activities -- all of these things, i always thought you needed a partner to enjoy. that’s not true at all. the more i do these things, the more fun im actually having being single. and the more i learn about myself, which is the best part :)

Being alone
I used to hate both spending time by myself and being single. would do whatever I could to avoid it. It made me feel unimaginably anxious Years, lots of therapy, and some really wonderfully healing friendships later, I not only enjoy spending time alone, but have found a level of peace that gives me much higher standards for my romantic relationships, rather than needing to fill the silence

I want to learn to be alone more
I often times rely on people to entertain me, or rely on them to go out and do things, which is rly bad, so I want to start being alone more and be more selfsufficient and rely on myself more. I've slowly already started this and i'm quite happy with how much better i've been :)

GOING BY YOURSELF!
Ive never been the type of person who is comfortable going out in public alone, but a while ago, my friend and I were supposed to go to a Greg Mendez show and he got food poisoning; but I was not about to miss that gd show. I was just like, fuck it we ball - and ended up having an awesome time, made a bunch of new friends, and met Greg & Lomelda so I’m officially an advocate for powering through the crippling anxiety and just going by yourself!
