Honoré Daumier was a badass realist and his moody paintings seem to be not so known as his caricature work — this canvas is only about 4x6in but it arrested me completely! @ the Barnes Foundation in PHL
visually pleasing but also so cheeky and funny. i also love hunters in the snow by pieter bruegel, mondrian's compositions, dick bruna's work, and paris street; rainy day by gustave caillebotte
[after the sermon (jacob wrestling with the angel) 1888] didn’t want to add him to that favorite artists post because he Is Not. but this is def a top 20 painting for me and changed my life.
going out is expensive and afternoons & evenings can be busy, invite someone over to your place before noon and make a pot of coffee — enjoy company for company’s sake 🥂
