talk to yourself about your feelings as if you were someone else observing your thoughts. very good way to organize and regulate your emotions/learn how to love yourself. very important to do before you can love anyone else.

you can be as sad or angry or sappy as you want, the journal will never judge you and it’ll help your brain hit the refresh button. The writing doesn’t even have to make sense or look legible just get the thoughts out! In post- breakup journaling I found it helps to use it as letters you’ll never send to that person. Also! As time goes on you can check on your own progress by reading previous entries and thinking wow I feel way better than I used to☀️

i pull out the pen and write down some of the most unhinged and pretentious stream of consciousness/faux poetry/riddled with errors stuff. i have to remind myself it’s just for me so i don’t have to sensor myself. that’s the worst part about being taught how to write. you’re constantly reminding yourself others will read it, but journaling is just for me to say whatever’s been eating at my conscious mind. it’s just myself and the pen. a cure to loneliness is journaling because you’re with yourself.

love this Adrienne Rich essay on lying. I think this can apply to everyone, not just women. in it she writes that telling the truth creates possibilities between us. "It is important to do this because it breaks down human self delusion and isolation"

turning fruits into other fruits can give you a sense of control in these uncertain times. play this game and watch hours disappear, existential dread replaced by a feeling of purpose and pride in what you have accomplished.
