ANTI REC: JUST NOW REALIZING THAT KANSAS CITY IS IN MISSOURI

listen, i’m embarrassed and ashamed to even post this. i don’t know why i wasn’t aware of this until today - why did no one tell me…why have i never noticed it until now? while looking at a band’s tour post thinking, “kansas city, MO?? that can’t be right, right?” i then continued to check google maps. it was, in fact, right. no amount of making good grades or testing well could ever beat the fact that i am a product of the alabama education system out of me apparently. everyone needs a little humbling moment of stupidity every once in a while i suppose.

yoooo I live in KCMO and I can drive 30 seconds/walk 2 mins and be in Kansas. there's literally a street called "State Line" that I drive on almost every day. I pay taxes in two states bc I live in one and work in both. it's still weird to me that they decided "hm this border line looks like a great place to put a city and making beurocratic decisions won't be complicated or anything"

in your defense, there is in fact a kansas city, kansas, as the city doesn’t just end at the state line. kcmo is just a lot bigger than kck!!!
