Ok I just remembered that I have access to the same YouTube account I’ve had since childhood. This is what I was listening to age 14/15 on the family desktop while playing Jam Buster on the CBBC website, talking to my friends on MSN, feeding my neopets, and scrolling tumblr.

This is the only website that I ever truly stumbled upon and kept using. A total relic of the forum era. Anonymous ask and answer, forum, some extremely homemade but fun games, and collaborative pixel art. I have no clue at all how many people use this site, it could be 25 or 3,000. It still feels like a place to go online, and it was really important to me as a forum without the stakes of permanence and publicity that make the modern social internet feel so hostile.

its crazy to me we are now at a point where major companies are actively putting measures into their products to make them hard or impossible to fix on your own. if you take it anywhere else to get it fixed your warranty is now voided. i just paid like $1000 for this phone. do i even really own it if nobody but the company i bought it from can fix it?
better yet you bring it to them and they will essentially do nothing but quote you for overpriced parts you don’t need or more likely just tell you to buy a new phone. thanks apple!!!
