Just saw and defo a movie I’d watch in theaters if you can. What a beautiful ode to the African diaspora and the culture that has come out of it as well as commentary on the victims and perpetrators of colonization. Or you could just see it as a fucking awesome vampire movie!!
literally just got back from the theatre 20 minutes ago so this rec came at the perfect time. i don’t even know how to explain it but there’s a specific scene in this film that make my whole soul light on fire. you have to see in (preferably in theatres) to believe it. bonus points if you like insane soundtracks and vampires
An unholy masterpiece baptized in blood and blues. Sinners grabs you by the soul and drags you through the dirt of 1930s Mississippi. Michael B. Jordan is mesmerizing in dual roles, and Coogler crafts horror that’s not just supernatural, but spiritually terrifying. I left the theater buzzing—like I’d just survived something holy and harrowing.
Coming to theaters April 18th. I’d definitely recommend seeing it in IMAX if you can.
