I never really understood the hype about Monet until I saw his work in person a few years ago. I was blown away at the vibrancy of the colors. I bought a print that obviously does not compare at all to the real thing, and I wish often that I could go back specifically to see that exhibition, which is now closed.

i always enjoyed this painting, but it's a piece that made me appreciate seeing art in person because the scale of it is so striking and adds so much. it's wonderful to look at on a screen, but when i was in the national gallery in edinburgh and i turned the corner and saw this i was absolutely blown away

Courbet is one of my favorite painters of all time and I was lucky to yet again see the beautiful body of work he has at the Norton Simon Museum. They have a couple works of his that are a bit more banal, but his land scapes after he was released from Jail are drop dead. I honestly like most eras of his work besides his super early stuff, but like Burial at Ornans, L’Origine du Monde, the Real Allegory, his paintings from Jail, his paintings after jail. Boom Wow. He was color feilding before that was a thing. Thank you Gustave you’ve given me so much.

Humans have always danced. It is part of who we are, yet we have been conditioned to be self conscious, to think that we do not move our bodies good enough. Dancing is beyond judgement. Dancing is not a skill, it is our soul moving through our bodies, expressed in movement. Dancing is healing. Dancing is bodily autonomy. Dancing is FUN! Any feeling you are feeling can be moved through with dance yet even alone, you fear looking foolish. Kill the judge in your mind, shut the fuck up, and MOVE 🌊
