Not even just for books- there are community events posted on bulletin boards, clubs you can join being advertised, the general ambience of a library- it’s just the ultimate experience for anyone yearning for community, or in need of a third place
To truly accept ourselves we have to stop thinking about what others think of us. Period. It doesn’t matter that your crush didn’t like you back. That you’re not your boss’s favorite employee. That you aren‘t your best friend’s best friend. (Although if this is happening to you, find someone who appreciates you equally). What matters is how YOU see yourself. You become what you believe.
Lately I’ve been disgusted at how much I rely on my phone. I’ve been leaving it in my car, letting loved ones know I’ll be unresponsive for a while, and just taking my digital camera everywhere I go. I’m more engaged in conversations, my attention span is better, AND I have some sweet new digi pics. everything looks so REAL on a digital cam:)
