get some friends together and plan a clothing swap! I find I am more likely to get rid of my unique pieces that I’ve been hanging on to when I think a friend might like them. I’ve also found some of my favorite items this way!
Or just ask friends to go through your pile and donate the rest.
Or give them no choice in the matter. I had a friend complement a sweater, and I was like cool it’s your’s now.

this isn't something that I can (or want to) do because my clothing needs are unusually sized, but it would be a great way get some new attire and meet new folks — I know people that do this and they really dig it

yesterday was my birthday and my friends and i went thrifting. when we got home we had a thrift haul fashion show which turned into my roommates and i trying on a bunch of each other’s clothes. we had a great time. i ended up both giving away and receiving a sweater in this process.
