BOULANGERIES 🥐 Victoire (9th arrondissement) and Pépite (11th arrondissement) both have authentic pastries at good prices with outdoor seating to enjoy the sun. MUSEUMS 🪽 (that aren’t the Louvre) Orangerie or Rodin!! I loved both. RANDOM 🍯 Aristivas gallery in the 8th, ZXSBN6DD3VZBGSY thrift stores (complete store refresh every Friday), cycling next to Canal St Martin (or just sitting there!!) and going to Parc des Buttes-Chaumont!!

Sainte Chapelle: the pinnacle of gothic architecture. Totally beautiful building and usually not too crowded Chez Janou: delicious mussels, a short walk from the Place des Vosges which is a great place to sit and linger Le Verre Vole: lovely spot for dinner right by the canal st Martin. If you have to wait for a table go sit along the canal with a bottle of wine. Cool neighborhood to wander around in. If you’re there in the morning, get the pistachio escargot pastry Des Pains Et Des Idees it’s amazing if you’re into design, Maison La Roche and/or Le Corbusier’s studio apartment were restored and opened to the public fairly recently. Just be prepared to climb 7 flights of stairs to the apartment Generally everywhere you go will be lovely; Paris is a great city. Allow yourself time to move slowly and not rush through things or feel like you have to see it all

Roam around Marais, the 11th and the surrounding areas. These are the most hip neighborhoods in Paris, which have a very local-oriented lifestyle (boutiques with handmade stuff and trinkets, local coffee shops, bars, delis and restaurants where you can easily make friends including the staff). Lots of authentic food from around the globe. + Jewish and Chinese districts (Marais), Muslim (Belleville, the 11th) Some of my faves: Pili Pili, Au Petit Garage, Le Chat Noir, Orange Mecanique and their neighbors (Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud and Rue Oberkampf), Le Progres, L'etincelle (bar), L'etoile Berbere, Nour (Middle-Eastern food), Babka Zana (bakery), Aleph (patisserie + rose/orange blossom/pistachio lattes!), Da Vito/Moonshiner (Pizza/Speakeasy), L'epicier (Middle Eastern-style speakeasy), Gem la Patisserie (Southeast Asian macarons, which unlike Laduree are freshly made every day) P.S. La Gare is a bit far, but it's the best jazz club in Paris.
