This is my favourite school tradition! On the last days of school all the people leaving go around getting their school shirts signed by friends and teachers. It's such a nice way to say goodbye to people and have one last walk around the school collecting signatures. It's so lovely reading the messages people have written for you, I still have my leavers shirt from primary school so it's nice to look back on. I've only really seen people in the UK do this but if you do this and you're from another country I'd love to know or if you have another leaving school tradition I'd love to hear about it!

Nothing is sweeter than spontaneous mail!! Go to your local post office, buy some stamps, sit down, monologue your current feelings/thoughts/ideas/drama/complaints on paper and send it off. If you're lucky, your friends will write you back and if you're like me, you can hoard every letter you've ever received and then read them back and revel in your own nostalgia.

I am an absolute slut for letters, notes, emails... I love giving them because I also love getting them. One of those basic childhood principles of doing as you would want to have done to you. This was such a small thing but it gave me such joy. My new work colleague dropped in this morning to hang out and work with me in my office as I was alone, using the rain outside as an excuse. I like being in her presence and making small banter/quips. I had to leave her to go for another meeting and when I came back, she'd left and I was instinctively sad but upon seeing this little thing on my desk I smiled very hard.

This is my new favourite kind of crochet project. It's great for using up small balls of yarn/scraps and they can be relatively quick projects if you keep them small (the apple one is 17x47, the bow one is 20x20, the swan one is 24x27 stitches) so if you get bored with projects quickly it's a good choice. There are so many different grids you can find I get mine off Pinterest. Since my pieces are very small I think I'm going to sew them all together plus more to create a pillow case, but there are so many other things you can with with this technique like framing them or using this style of colour work in a larger piece like a jumper.
