this is one of my favorite albums ever โ very lush and vivid, yet also sparse and delicate at the same time in keeping with aobaโs usual style. lots of gorgeous field recordings (yay ocean sounds!) and sweeping orchestral arrangements
if i recall correctly it was conceived of by aoba as a soundtrack of sorts for a (fictional, non-existent) film about a girl with psychic powers who gets exiled to the island Adan. the wildlife welcome her but then die because they have such short lives. she also soon dies but gets reincarnated as multiple different creatures. very interesting and beautiful stuff
