Emailing is a language and once I learned it, it became fun. It's where big business comes in and if you do something you enjoy, emails are a time of excitement and opportunity.

I think we tend to romanticize letters a lot, and for good reason, but this often comes at the expense of devaluating emails so I just wanted to share my love for emailing.
I send a lot of emails at work and I tend to enjoy it. I like how ridiculous office lingo is, I like designing my special signature at the end of my emails because it makes me feel creative and important. I like sending a long and thoughtful email to my friends or my professors in university, like you would do with a letter but without having to pay for stamps, wait forever for it to arrive, or having to worry if it will get lost.
I also like that it’s not as instantaneous as texting, but just enough for it to feel timely. Also because it’s not suuuper instantaneous, it kinda feels more intimate, or like a rare pleasure.
I like sending emails to my friends. Email pen-palls rock. Send more thoughtful emails :)

I love that emails can be a tiny little organised space - they can look beautiful and present information in an exciting, careful way. I love then, that by extension, your inbox can become lots of little rooms that you can pop in and out of at will. Each one looks and sounds completely different - blues, purples, greens

I went to Build-A-Bear Workshop for the first time recently to get a wedding gift (the same wedding as China). I thought it was going to be uncomfortable going alone. It was an extremely inviting and pleasant experience. I got to pick out clothing, name, stuff, and make a voice recording for my bear. They make you kiss the heart of the bear in front of everyone in line which I didn't love.

Great for going down rabbit holes of music. You can find out what recording studio recorded a song, find the engineer of that recording studio, find that engineer's brothers who's in another band, find the guitarist of that band and they’ll be in an Australian electronic rock band from 1992 that rips. You might also find the worst song you've ever heard the same way.

I recently went to China for a wedding I was the best man at. I went to Hefei, Hangzhou, and ended in Shanghai. It was awesome. Great food, friendly people, cheap beer and insane cities. Hefei was my favorite. The Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou made me cry.
