I recently went to China for a wedding I was the best man at. I went to Hefei, Hangzhou, and ended in Shanghai. It was awesome. Great food, friendly people, cheap beer and insane cities. Hefei was my favorite. The Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou made me cry.Â

This was my first trip out of the country once I got my green card. My wife and I wandered the streets safely, ate more carbs than we should have while losing weight (???), looked at art and buildings that were around when Rome was still running gladiator battles, and met strangers for drinks at a bar and stayed there for 6 hours talking about life. Truly my fave trip. We did Florence and Rome and…errrr…I forget the name but it’s the place with all the islands. 10/10 trip. Reach out if you need any recs.

I can’t express enough how beautiful this country was and how much I highly recommend doing the thing you’ve always wanted to. I stayed for just over a month, because if staying in an apartment there for a month was less than a big city in the United States, why not? I went everywhere from La Spezia, Cinque Terre (Corniglia pictured), Florence, Rome, Pisa, Lucca, Milan, etc. Take the trip, life is too short!!

You can find out what recording studio recorded a song, find the engineer of that recording studio, find that engineer's brothers who's in another band, find the guitarist of that band and they’ll be in an Australian electronic rock band from 1992 that rips. You might also find the worst song you've ever heard the same way.Â

I went to Build-A-Bear Workshop for the first time recently to get a wedding gift (the same wedding as China). I thought it was going to be uncomfortable going alone. It was an extremely inviting and pleasant experience. I got to pick out clothing, name, stuff, and make a voice recording for my bear. They make you kiss the heart of the bear in front of everyone in line which I didn't love.
