This rec directly conflicts with my previous rec about “making peace with having a few bugs inside.” I can deal with flies and gnats, but baby.. I draw the line at wasps. The warmth of spring has the wasps around my apartment stepping out in full force, and they are just dying to move in with me.
I read online that peppermint deters wasps, so I planted a ton outside on my balcony. I have not seen a single wasp in a WEEK! Also, I now have gorgeous and aromatic peppermint growing on my porch.
Me: 1 Wasps: 0
P.S. Mint in general is super invasive and will take over any other plants it shares soil with. It has to be planted in a pot to avoid spreading like wildfire.
sometimes they grow themselves. Just picked up some free neighborhood mint. Accidentally grew a bunch of Japanese maple and lil bb oak trees in my backyard, want one?
MAXIMIZE YOUR PLANTS. Cut a stem, put it in water, replant, now you have double triple maximum plants. Keep one inside in a pot for the winter, repeat the process and have herbs galore: basil, rosemary, nasturtium. Works for most houseplants too.
I recently had my first mango lassi and holy cow… y’all…RUN don’t walk to your nearest Indian restaurant and get one. This juicy, creamy goodness makes me wanna drop down into a split. I can’t believe I’ve lived for this long without these. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I now know joy, I now know happiness, I now know mango lassi <3
I am always so thankful to have a little metal nail file with me wherever I go. I used to be a chronic nail biter. One chipped fingernail would send me into a frenzy, and I would have to nibble away at what was left until the nail felt even. This would inevitably result in me biting the rest of my nails too. I know at least one of you can relate!? Carrying a nail file helps me avoid slipping up and chewing all of my nails to the quick. Sometimes I worry that it’s rude to be like filing away at my nails in public? But I also don’t care and even think it’s kind of sassy.
