I am generally opposed to intrusive technology doing things for me that I did not ask it to do, but Apple did kinda kill it when they made that feature that complies photos from certain trips or moments into a fun little slideshow for you.
Minus a few points for when it makes a slideshow out of all the photos of my ex though I wish I could tell it to stop doing that

Without sounding like a bitter luddite, I miss the days of people capturing moments for the sake of remembering, not sharing with strangers. We all have childhood VHS footage and disposable photos of seemingly mundane moments at family BBQs, birthday parties, vacations, etc, but in the iPhone age most of our photos are taken with the intention of posting. This is a crucial difference, for me at least, so I recommend getting a camera not because it takes better photos than your phone, but because it'll remind you to capture more regular slices of life.

okay what i do is every new year, I put all the photos from the previous year onto a hard drive (two, actually) and remove them from my icloud. I do this because a) apple cloud storage makes me feel like a digital serf and b) i think that having photos of the past 5-10 years of your life so readily accessible is kind of detrimental, it lets you look back yes but also robs you of the ability to forget! How can you evolve as a person if you're constantly able to dwell on the past with such vivid clarity. I found the camera roll did more harm then good, i'd recommend trying it out

The app is a little slow but thatโs part of the charm for me.
I also like that you can only attach one photo to a post, it feels more intentional. Only thing Iโm missing re:photos is an option to pinch and zoom, and also it would be fun to be able to attach a photo to comments!
