After two years of watching all kinds of cool birds come and go I saw a pileated woodpecker for the first time today!!! It was huge!!!

I looooove woodpeckers, gotta be my favorite type of bird. I've unfortunately yet to see a hairy, red headed, or pileated woodpecker (the pileated being my literal moby dick because I want to see it so bad but I only ever hear it in the woods by my house) but I have seen these guys! there's a few downy couples that go to our suet feeder all the time which absolutely makes my day every time. one of those couples, a red bellied woodpecker, and a northern flicker are in my photos though
I am so excited to watch all the birds that visit. Still waiting for the Blue Jays.

This motherfucker is LOUD.
When I first heard it, I thought someone's exotic bird had escaped but apparently they're native to much of NA. The first bird I've ever identified from its call alone! Plus it's a woodpecker.

Hey we're in the same boat I am also nauseous all the time. I love matzo ball soup soooo much. I get the Manischewitz mix from the grocery store and then add chicken broth salt pepper & parsley. If you're feeling extra fancy/want some kind of other textural element I add chopped carrots and celery sometimes but when I'm not feeling good nothing beats just broth + spheres
