complimenting strangers is awesome especially on things u may have a common interest in! love seeing someone in public with sanrio merch, someone next to me at a show, reading something that i’ve heard about/have read making friends in a new city was a bit difficult for me, but doing this and receiving the same energy from others helped a lot.

okay this can be hit or miss but if I’m out like at a local market, gig or just walking through town there are always cool people around me and if I want to talk to them then I’ll just start with a compliment if they’re responsive that opens up a conversation and if not then you’ve just made their day a bit better! My main advice is just going out more and if someone seems cool TELL THEM!!
☺️
I’ve always had struggles starting/maintaining conversations, so when I was in college, I would find something to compliment a stranger on (typically a cashier or someone I had to talk to) because I remembered how good I felt when I unexpectedly got a compliment from someone. When I myself became a cashier at a coffee shop, it was a really nice way to make someone feel good if they looked bored or upset. It also helps with awkward silences. I still do it when I can or when the situation calls for it, and it’s so nice to see people react and smile.

complimenting strangers is such a fulfilling experience thats adds some positivity to both you and a strangers day, i think a lot of people are afraid of the other person thinking that they're weird or smth but how many times have you received a passing compliment and thought it was weird prolly not very often not to mention you'll prolly never see them again and you only live once

being able to see classics from my childhood in theaters has been my favorite past time lately. my favorite so far has been the 4k imax rerelease of princess mononoke. such an amazing experience shared with my older sister who introduced me to the movie when we were kids. and the wiz. seeing the subway scene on the big screen definitely brought up some old scars (iykyk), but such a visual and musical masterpiece.
