i feel like we are so conditioned to take the easiest route, the most optimal or most operational to the point that we forget doing things is about LEARNING to do things and idk if it’s just me but. learning is lowkey awesome and underrated. so. get consumed by something. get inspired by people. and do something. learn something fully!!!

In an age where we ā€˜make’ so much stuff to live as content for entertainment I’ve been enjoying making purely for learning. An artist I want to learn about? I’ll make a video about it. An old film process I’m interested in? I’ll write a page or two on it. Learning through making has me much more engaged with the topic I’m interested in as well as allows me to create stuff without the burden of worrying if it’s good. It’s like adult homework. And you can do it about anything. Highly recommend.

like today i kept hearing in my head a nightcore version of unwritten by natasha bedingfield but none of the ones on youtube are exactly right so i went into logic and used varispeed to make it myself. or when i want to make a meme of a friend i go on photoshop and do it. or when i want a chair i know how to make it. etc. skills make you freer and less broke too

i have learned that, felt in its deepest moments—love exists loudest when we give it permission to evade us. within that evasion, an admiration, an appreciation—a feeling of true, honest, vulnerable, raw love—emerges.
maybe this is why we love people the most when we are separated.
maybe that’s why we love those most in a moment of grief.
maybe that’s why we love our children and inner child the most when they grow up.
but when we prevent it—when we prevent ourselves from loss we not only prevent ourselves from finding love but from love finding us.
just some thoughts
