I did not intend to go far today, but when a young friend I care about said they were having a hard time I wanted to be an ear at least, and support any other way.
Me, my wife, and our friend then spent the afternoon hugging, passing about in the park, and walking around Horsham shops.
What I also didn't expect was to come home with 12 jam jars, jewelery, and this creative assembly branded bag.
What an odd but rewarding day.

so there were lots of nice moments!! among my favorites:

⢠enjoyed the presence of other writers during an hour of work on our projects
⢠explored a quirky used bookstore
⢠had several late night, falling-asleep-as-youâre-speaking chats with my friend of 26 years, just as weâve always done

⢠friend beat me to saying âi love youâ and i realized how often iâm the first to say it in relationships/interactions and hearing it offered (instead of automatically returned) helped balm something i didnât know was wounded
⢠proved to myself that even though i can never outrun my OCD, i can do more alongside it than i thought i could

living in such a boring town i forget the wonder of public parks exist but i went out today and it was pretty cool :-)
someone Was walking behind us for like a good 20 minutes following the directions we went so that was kinda strange but i think he mightâve wanted a friend. I shouldâve said hi. Iâm selfish.
i wore my jake hat today and it gave me some pretty stellar confidence. i was sipping on a 32 oz fountain Diet Coke that was properly disposed of in a trash can and not in the lake like a beer can disposed by a Charlatan.

Lifeâs been super life-ing hard lately. So I decided to just go for it and try my first hike.
I joined a group of strangers at Mt. Batulaoâmy âmother mountainâ here in my country, the Philippines. đľđ
Sometimes the care and love you give doesnât take root where you thought it would, but love still shows up in so many ways: in plants guiding your path, flowers, friendly dogs that greet you on to that scenic trail, a breeze of cold air, a view thatâs totally new but somehow feels like home, and strangers-turned-friends who literally lend their hands to help you up and show you which rocks are safe to step on.
The shared âbulaloâ meals. Our Filipino Laughter. The process was challenging but beautiful!
Honestly, the peak wasnât even the highlight for me during the trail.
It was realizing that what you put out into the universe comes back in different forms and tenfolds, and my connection with nature reassure me that I still have a place in this world. đ¤
So, yes, take a hike. Nature finds its own ways to heal.
