Juraj Herz is my guy. Morgiana (1973) is essential viewing.
Have you seen Malá Morská Víla (The Little Mermaid 1976) by Karel Kachyňa? It would make a terrrr-ific double feature with your rec.
@CL0E No, but I have seen Once There Was A King (1955)!
And, now, with our respective picks, we have a beautiful triple feature. I'm the king of diy/home film programming.
Also, you've got 3 months to make that Beauty And The Beast/ Salt Prince dress your Halloween costume.
This is an old czech film from the new wave and it’s a very visually beautiful and has a different take on a creepy gothic story. Also some of the shots are very reminiscent of Kubrick! You can’t stream it but I’ll share the link to a DVD.
Mystics in Bali, i found it at scarecrow video, but I found out that it’s on YouTube too, actually. It fucking ROCKS. Incredible special effects (in my childish opinion) and will probably give you a lovely mix of the heebie jeebies and some sincere giggles :) Oh, another film I love that I found on YouTube recently was Wim Wender’s Wings of Desire. it’s heartwrenching , but it inspires faith unlike any other. and peter falk is in it! (and weirdly enough, nick cave lol!)
