I was able to complete my modified version of 75 Hard at the beginning of this year. It boiled down to no alcohol, one hour of exercise everyday and logging all the food I ate. After a month I didnāt have any urges for alcohol and felt so clear. But all of the exercise made my body ache but I refused to give up. I only did temporarily bc I got Covid and then sick again (lol). I let myself pause for those events without having to start over. It was rough, not going to lie and I had to really work through the pain. Thereās a limit to that of course, but sometimes it can be good to see what your limits are. And now that Iām done with it Iām keeping the good habits without being so hardcore. Sorry for the yapping but it was probably the most important thing I did this year and I hope you can keep yours going!
iāve been slowly getting into fitness over the past year and it was a real lightbulb moment for me when i started doing more intensive workouts (as opposed to only yoga/pilates) bc they are wildly more gratifying, physically and mentally. turns out the confidence and motivation you get from doing hard things is what makes u actually wanna continue working out.
iām now more active than ever and it feels great!!!
whatās your budget range? Edit:
Iām a big proponent of Canada Gooseābut they did stop using real wolf fur in recent years. Iād also recommend Boden or Patagonia for lighter weather. The North Face has some good products you could check out like their HMLYN down parka or McMurdo line. REI usually has some good downs too, but Iām pretty sure theyāre rotational and differ based on region. Iāve spent most of my adult life so far all over the east coast and my advice is that if youāre looking for an all-in-one option, yeah, the parkas are good. But I would also recommend having some lighter down jackets, at least one pullover sweater, and some layering, as well. As for being current college student, Iāll let you know that sometimes, you just say āfuck itā and go out in your hoodie and a beanie or ear muffs when itās -10°F and deeply regret it after š. Also scarves/neck gaiters MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. ALSO WOOL SOCKS. And though I canāt speak on these brands as of late, my friends recommend LL Bean, Columbia, Lole, and Alpha Industries.
Well, for one, mechanical clocks sound so much betterāthe ringing of perfectly chiming metal is far more pleasant to the ear than whatever Apple sounds we canāt even differentiate from a phone call. And itās much more satisfying to turn off the mechanical alarm than telling Alexa: āalexa. Alexa. Alexa! ALEXA SHUT THE **** UPā¼ļøā¼ļøā
