theres an extracellular matrix-like retinal protein in the human eye thats essential for visual processing that's named after Pikachu. it was discovered in 2008 by a japanese research team led by Shigeru Sato at the Osaka Bioscience Institute.
there's also a protein that's a signaling molecule of embryonic development that's called "Sonic Hedgehog Protein", which is really important for the organization of the nervous system, limbs, and digits, aside many other body parts!
