SUNFLOWER
the first beach boys album of the 70's- it has nice rock and sunshine pop vibes. it also includes one of the earliest dream pop songs (“All I Wanna Do”). also some very cool Dennis Wilson tracks like “Slip On Through”, “Got to Know The Woman”, and “Forever”. some of my favorites though are “Our Sweet Love” (this is one of my favorite Beach Boys songs ever tbh) and “This Whole World”

I quite like “Deidre“ on this record. A fun fact about that one is that the first few seconds was used as a musical sample for the game Earthbound, and the later Undertale. If you clip “Deidre” at those first few seconds it genuinely sounds so alien and menacing, before the guys launch into the standard lovey pop song fare

@MELANCHOLIC_KRISTI thats neat!! I had no idea. I can definitely see why though, the intro does sound really creepy out of context lol. Deirdre is a beautiful track, Bruce's additions to the beach boys discography are almost always bangers so Ive been meaning to listen to his music from before and his solo album from 1977 but haven't gotten around to it yet

brown eyes
I was bullied a lot for my eye color as a kid (because me having very dark brown hair and very dark brown eyes made me look "evil", apparently) and, naturally, began to dislike them. but as I've gotten out of school and away from people who put me down, I've realized how insane it is to bully someone over their eye and hair color and grown to love the color of my eyes. I mean, they may be dark but there's nothing wrong with that. and I can take pretty pictures of my eyes too, I just have to blind myself and almost stare into the sun to do so lol

reading when you wake up
recently, when I wake up in the morning and have time to kill, I've been spending a bit of time reading before or after I get myself ready to go about the day instead of sitting on my phone when I first wake up. I feel like it helps clear my mind for the day and it feels nice to not immediately scroll when I wake up like I used to
