checks all the boxes: easy, quick, cheap, minimal cleanup, all your main food groups and macronutrients, modifiable (today I added sliced mini peppers and green onion), and of course yummy. doesn't have to be tiny british finger food bites either. I don't cut off the crusts. I pile my toppings high scooby doo style. hard to get sick of bc you can always mix it up--dill, chili oil, salmon, garlic, olives, tomatos, tabasco... it adapts nicely to whatever you have kicking around. Salt, pepper, and a splash of vinegar is my basic default

I would make this nearly everyday when I was living + working on a farm in WA last summer (spoiled bc I had access to some of the best produce I’ve ever eaten) but: Veggie sandwich  tzatziki on one side hummus on the other (or sometimes bitchin sauce… dealers choice) topped with avocado, lettuce, onions, heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese (again dealer’s choice I just had halloumi to use up that day), a little olive oil, and a very crucial element of any good sandwich: salt/pepper/season in LAYERS Second option: BLT… you can’t go wrong with a BLT mmmm hot tip for BLT: only lightly toast the top/outer layer of the bread so it won’t scrap the roof of your mouth but full crisp the interior ofc ok bye xoxo

I know this is a ~seasonal~ summer thing oops but hits for me year round My easy delish recipe 1. Grab a fancy looking tomato from the fancy grocery store 2. Toast 2 slices sourdough so they’re crispy (this is ur only texture so make it count) and then spread with kewpie mayo 3. Cut tomato into thick slices, pat dry, then season with salt and pepper and chives if you have, assemble

Changed my perspective on so much--namely money and history. It's shocking how so much of the mainstream story of where money came from is false conjecture. For instance, we are told that societies start out bartering for goods and then develop money to make trade easier... but actually Graeber shows in no society has bartering ever predated coinage. The actual ways societies have historically dealt with exchange of goods and services are diverse and often more humanistic. Could it be that the mainstream narrative is merely justification for the inevitability of the free market? 🤔 Definitely want to re-read because there's lots more too

I like that you called it a "short circuit"—I feel like you can just say "Woah sorry just short circuited" and move on. I think it would make you seem cool and comfortable with your flaws and put others at ease
