A great Canadian film about Native culture, brotherly love, and story telling. The animation is unparalleled and the style is amazing. If you’re in Vancouver you can catch it at the VIFF Center or the Rio Theatre.
A nostalgic, synthy modern fairy tale shot on 16 mm. It’s about three kids on a journey to get their mom a blueberry pie. Visually pleasing and so so comforting to watch. I have not enjoyed a movie this much in so long! (Stream it on mubi)
I remember seeing this 2014 short film play before some disney/pixar blockbuster. I found it on disney+ last night (only 7.99 cad/month w ads). Figured it was worth 10 minutes and was not wrong. Very pleasant and warm feeling movie built around a catchy little island melody. Recommend for viewing during breakfast on a sunny day, or on a cold night when you finish your movie but aren’t quite ready to sleep yet.
the most sweetest and loveliest animated film i’ve seen in a long time. theres something so refreshing and beautiful about the approach to the story and the animation is toooo pretty .. certainly worth a watch - on hbo if you’re in the US :) don’t overlook it! it has a fantastic capybara and a lovely cat in it ..
I’m in my 30’s and I still can’t get the hang of this. I race a razor around my face like it’s trying to catch a bus. Never shave when you’re in a hurry and don't shave like your competing in a time trial.
