nolan's batman movies are alright (I like Begins more than the rest), but this might be my favorite batman movie. Wonderful set design, costume design; a genuine noir. The scenes where The Penguin is drafted into the mayoral race is so perfect and it's startling to remember that Tim Burton really used to make fire films before he slipped and hit his head in the 2000s or whatever happened

Critics had a poor opinion of this movie upon release, and I still get funny looks from people when I say this is my favorite robin hood. Must have watched it a hundred times growing up. I recently found a VHS copy just to put on my shelf so I could see the dust cover that was so ubiquitous during childhood.
The reason to watch this movie is for the Sheriff of Nottingham played by the spectacular Alan Rickman. Certainly one of the top five villains of all time. Rickman even had a low opinion of the movie while filming and had a friend come in to punch up his lines. And I gotta say, it was the right call ๐ค

Pacino as a coke addicted cop and DeNiro as the criminal. Ridiculous, perfect, and worth every viewing. Apparently Heat 2 is going to be a thingโฆ

two ex cons looking to rebuild their lives ~ always been a fan of both pacino & hackman, somehow this film slipped under my radar until now. both actors are amazing and have crazy energy in it, theres these really long takes throughout of the film and you really feel the energy of their weird friendship, really funny, intense, tragic
