I get to do this at work all the time and it’s one of my favorite parts of the day. I’m not going to bend to your pressure or passive aggressive bullshit the answer is no. Some people are used to bullying or guilting others to get their way but you have no power in this situation. People don’t realize that some bosses allow or even encourage front of house to stand their ground. No explanation, just no. God it feels so good.
I’m at an age and stage of my professional life that I don’t trust people/can’t handle those who are unable to say ‘no’ and know their limitations. I’d rather hear a ‘no‘ than have you occupy a position that you’re simply unable to fulfill. Makes working really difficult, unnecessarily.
if you grew up being a people pleaser like me, it can be so damn hard to set boundaries. but it was so great when I finally realized I simply didn’t have to say yes to everything/everyone. it was wild. blew my mind. I highly recommend.
Coffee should be black, alcohol should burn, cigarettes should leave a bad taste on your fingers and hair. Culturally we’ve moved away from this which causes people to overindulge & you should feel the weight of substances
