i feel like its a great way to stimulate your mind after just kinda consuming so much content. i think its best to get a sudoku book, rather than doing it online - to reduce screen time. you can do it anywhere as well. also i so get you, im gonna be home in less than 10 days and i don't think i can handle what that is gonna be like. i have a deadline to work on so i'll be doing something, but man its gonna be so weird.

I know, this sounds awful. But for me it's exactly what I needed to get out of this evil depressive mood.. I hate scrolling but it's easy to fall back into the habit when I have a break from school, so when school starts up again and I'm doing homework for 6 hours on a saturday, I just think of it as an activity I'm doing instead of scrolling. My time becomes so much more valuable, too, I'm gonna use it to watch beautiful movies (and such) instead of throwing it into the time black hole that is tiktok

or, if you have too much attachment, just really try to open them. turn nofs off and you can ween off to start, but I promise when you go to check ur socials to make sure you didn’t miss anything, you will realize you never do, there isn’t anything to miss. In the meantime, pick up a book! I have recs if you want (I stay far away from booktok books). Get a sketch book and draw, try embroidery (it’s easier than you think, I made a little frog and put it on a shirt), start reading the news, do crossword puzzles, clean your room, go for a walk, a drive, call a friend and my personal fave, get a cheap comp notebook and start writing. I realized I had trouble keeping a journal because I would put too much pressure on it and also bought notebooks that were too pretty and delicate.

that’s such a horrible place to be stuck in… if you’re needing an analog diversion, maybe try a low effort craft? collaging has been a favorite of mine cuz i can turn off my verbal brain but it’s still stimulating enough to keep me engaged. i’ve also really enjoyed cozy/casual games on my switch cuz they’re distracting but not too hard either nothing gets me out of a funk better than talking to another human though... maybe facetime a friend to talk about nothing for a bit stretching while watching a show or listening to a podcast… wakes the body up and keeps the scary thoughts at bay

“Please do not be cynical. I hate cynicism – it's my least favorite quality, and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen.” dealing with disappointment but remembered this and realised it might not work out the way i planned out but that's okay. made it my lockscreen to remember it. also context - NBC was really fucking him over here. it was his last tonight show episode I think, so it means a lot that he specifically was like cynicism leads nowhere.

Great film directed by Gurinder Chadha. About a British Indian girl who joins a women's football team which her parents don't approve of. This film made waves for British Asian representation. It does a great job of balancing social commentary with comedy.
