also ka’s ā€œdescendants of cainā€ ...truthfully almost all his discography lately. it’s nearly all i’ve been listening to. his death has really hit me hard as of late…he was such a gifted wordsmith. master of the concept album. his flow truly feels all knowing, timeless and introspective.

i swear that man is the Truth some rap songs and voir dire are masterworks of flow and lyricism and they just sound fucking good. feet of clay is good also but depressing and sick is good too but idk doesnā€˜t flow as well as those two records. also he had verse of the year on words2liveby by el cousteau. incredible artist

If you’ve never listened to Aesop Rock, it’ll most likely sound like harsh noise to you the first few listens, but boy does his music reward you the more you listen. This isn’t background music, listening is WORK- rewarding work. Once your ear gets used to it you’re in for a treat. ā€œBlack Snowā€ is my current favorite on this album. I recommend patiently making your way through all his work if you’re a rap/poetry/word fan… you will get stuck on specific songs for a while since there is SO much being said in every.single.word. Best lyricist of our generation and I don’t think anyone disputes that. And an added bonus- his vast vocabulary will make you smarter as you listenšŸ¤“

honestly one of the few artists from this era of electronic music that I still go back to and whose new output I'm still keeping up with. Dreamstone was the first vinyl i ever got and the Hieroglyphics, Search of the Miraculous, and Art is Dead EPs are still no skippers for me. these releases CARRIED me through my sadboy years. if you like bass music, UK garage, or lofi-hip hop i highly recommend giving Sorrow a listen. some top songs of his: Lover's Charm (linked) Mourner No More Hesitation Never Too Far Girl I Miss You Qualm This Way (Asa & Sorrow Remix)

two women next to me on the train are having an insightful heart to heart. a guy behind me is clearly flirting with this girl and you can tell it’s mutual. we all have rich, rich inner lives :)
