doesn’t have to be your own garden to be a good time! could see if there are any community gardens nearby, they often have volunteer work days and it’s so rewarding to see bees and other little buddies enjoying your efforts :’)

I think It's the sweetest thing ever when someone puts a lot of effort into making and keeping a garden. Hope to grow one of my own someday 🌱

has taught me so much about like…faith and patience...& while caring for/harvesting plants, flowers and veggies has its own gradient of reward, this cursory lesson still hits every time imo. If you have access to even a friend‘s garden or somewhere to sow something you can check back in/care for I recommend it. Not exactly one of those ‘your garden is a revolutionary act’ types, but I do believe that there is a lot on offer in growing anything, starting with the alchemical-feeling activity of sprouting 1 seed into plant.

I’ve recc’d this before but I am so incredibly lucky to be in this industry/community. My co-workers and I are at the annual conference in Denver and it’s my first time at the Denver Botanic Garden and the importance of public gardens is just ugh! The education and conservation work that happens at these places, and the healing that happens in these nature spaces, is honestly amazing and it feels incredible to be apart of something important.

one of my favorite things about getting older is learning that this happens! my childhood best friend and i drifted way apart in high school and college, but over the past couple years have found that we actually have a lot in common again and have reconnected. we were always in each other’s lives but now it’s in a much deeper way. now i’m less anxious when i feel drifting from other friends — if we’re ever on the same path again, we’ll find each other. letting the ebbs and flows happen. i agree with the people who said it’s nice to reach out in small ways just to keep them in your orbit without putting a lot of pressure on ~connecting~

i read on kindle for a few years, until i started noticing that i barely remembered some of the books i read! i like to have a print book now so i can form a relationship with it as a physical object, which i guess helps me remember more about it. lately i’ve been buying them and giving them away after, but i want to use the library more too. lugging around a book everywhere i go is just one of the welcome inconveniences in my life :’)
