It is so nice to take a chill moment for yourself, and it’s really hard to. I’ve never been to a studio (yet) cause Iā€˜m broke and anxious. I like it because it doesn’t feel like a competition, not even against yourself. It’s just moving into a position and trying to chill. It’s fine if you can’t reach your arms or whatever that far, whatever feels good, whatever your body likes. Even if it’s just 10 minutes, it really makes all the difference to check in with how your body parts are feeling, including your brain. I am procrastinating my yoga right now. I like Yoga with Kassandra and Yoga with Bird on youtube. I hope at least one person gets into yoga this way with me!

I love taking fitness classes IRL and I think boutique fitness is so interesting and literally, like I said, could just make this whole thing about that. So if you ARE interested in recommendations of studios and teachers and stuff reach out to me bc I am going to STOP but I did wanna say-- if you’re someone who’s been practicing yoga for a long time, especially at home, it can get kind of monotonous- you start to be able to predict where you’re going next, like, Warrior 2, then Reverse Warrior, then Triangle. Etc.Ā So I recently found this girl I am in love with and her name is Nicole and she doesn’t upload videos very often but they’re like the closest to an in-studio experience I’ve ever had at home. Her sequencing is so creative!!Ā  She’s an artist. It’s definitely for more experienced people, but if that is you, I think you will love her. She is amazing at coming up with crazy flows that are so fun and challenging. And a lot of them are a nice hour long!!If you are newer to yoga and are maybe burnt out on Adrienne, I think you would love Yoga With Kassandra...Ā  she’s really accessible.. this is all free on YouTube I should have specified

google the studio first because most have first time visitor freebies. you're not gonna push yourself as hard (and avoid injury) doing youtube vids alone in your room. and then you get to make friends with people you might not share regular space with otherwise. better harmony with the OM irl too...

if you told me six years ago that I would be a devoted follower of a bay area yoga couple I would have probably believed you, but would've rolled my eyes. But after regular practice, taking stock of where I started and where I am now, yoga has changed my life. I do like the occasional class, but doing it at home is so much cheaper and you can build a foundation to know a little more about what you're doing. They have classes for all levels and a paid Patreon channel if you want longer ones (75, 90, 120 minutesšŸ”„) I'm normally not into the woowoo stuff, but something about Flo's assurances that you don't need to worry about how a pose *looks* only how it *feels* makes all the difference. Focusing on your breath and his vocal cues help tune you into parts of your body you forget about. And that awareness reaches far to so many other areas of your life. If you're at all curious about yoga, don't roll your eyes or by a cynic like 2018 me. Get into it.

I went to an incense making class earlier this year for my birthday, it’s super easy and makko powder is basically the ONLY thing you need to buy to make incense at home. Itā€˜s pretty cheap and lasts a while, you can get it on amazon. All you need to make incense is equal parts makko powder, your dried+pulverized herbs/flowers/etc, and water (give or take on the water, use your intuition). And boom, you have incense ā€œdoughā€ that you can now shape into cones, dry, and burn. I’ve been making incense with what I can find around me, natives and invasive plants. It’s awesome and I totally recommend it. Making incense makes me feel like the computer energy is leaving my body. (pic is of the class incense set up)

directed by (a) safdie brother(s) (?), it’s a mini series about the oldest renaissance faire in the USA, and the self titled king that owned it, along with the property. Weird history, weird guy. (actually just passed) . If you like safdie bros. stuff, you’ll like this. Not super long.

I’m the worst at letting my nails dry and avoiding mess ups, especially after accidentally putting too thick of a layer on/not letting the previous layer dry completely before applying. If i say ā€œi’m going to spend the next HOUR solely focusing on my nailsā€, i feel less rushed by my brain and am less prone to errors. And also have time to fix accordingly without freaking out. It also usually takes less than an hour. This is my current color, i painted them yesterday. I thought it was black until i put it on (actually a deep wine)
