I don’t know if ā€œscaryā€ quite describes this one, but it definitely stuck with me for days after I watched it. I still think about it to this day. ā€œDeeply upsettingā€œ more fits the bill. It’s just two hours of the most destructive and toxic relationship ever portrayed on film with some horror elements for flare. Makes you want to curl up into a ball and never experience romantic feelings for another person ever again This recommendation comes with a big asterisk. This is whatever the opposite of life-affirming is, so if you like feeling like shit definitely check it out.

The first time i saw Possession i said ā€œthis is my favorite movieā€ approximately four times throughout. the insanely theatrical performances, the color and setting… it’s untouchable to me. it’s not a For Everyone movie as it is certainly unsettling and strange Horror but its power lies in that uniqueness and it’s just straight up beautiful love you xoxo

Arresting. Emotional. Powerfully acted. Truly weird.

Movie by Gregg Araki. Maybe the most emotionally devastated I’ve been after a movie. Watched it alone one night and cried for an hour after. May need to look up some trigger warnings, but definitely would destroy you.

I recently finished the Valis tetralogy by Philip K. Dick. I loved Valis (the first in the series) but as it went on, it got super heady and tedious. But yanno what? I’m glad I finished every book. I feel like my opinions and analysis are vindicated after seeing it all through and even if I didn’t love the experience, I wouldn’t say I suffered any grave loss of my time or anything. Being a completionist is cool, and Iā€˜d rather have something bad to say than nothing at all.
